Vancouver Island University students, staff, and faculty are invited to join us in Shq'apthut (Blg 170) and create a heart with a message about reconciliation. We will have the hearts posted across campus. Bring your own brown bag lunch.

Services for Aboriginal Students will be doing a live screening of Phyllis Webstad's Truths.
Learn from Phyllis Webstad, founder of Orange Shirt Day, as she and her family share truths of their Residential School experiences through the new book, Beyond the Orange Shirt Story.
This showing will be an in-person event at Shq'apthut, Blg 170.

All Nations Feast
Office of Indigenous Education and Engagement would like to invite you to come, witness, and be a part of this traditional welcome for our Indigenous students. This feast provides an opportunity from our four Nations on Vancouver Island (Kwakwaka'wakw, Nuu chah nulth, Coast Salish, and Metis) to provide a traditional welcome.

This introductory session will be facilitated by Cowichan Tribes Elder Marlene Rice (Hwiem'). Marlene will provide an understanding of the Hwtheeyqut Sy’uwen Protocol Handbook that she has prepared for the Cowichan Campus which has been created as a guide. Marlene works at the Cowichan Campus.
