The Elders tea and talk is a daily drop-in opportunity for students, faculty and staff to chat with the VIU Elders over Zoom or by phone. The Elders are knowledge keepers and are also great listeners. The Elder’s February schedule has also been posted to the Office of Indigenous Education and Engagement Facebook. This presentation looks at the history of anti-Indigenous racism from various perspectives including through a spiritual lens. Students will be given tools and strategies to deal with racism and understand the power of love to heal.

This is a traditional welcome, and is specifically designed for Aboriginal Students (and their families) studying at Vancouver Island University, and will be hosted on Zoom.
